Three day consortium meet for project “Efficient Coupling of Water and Energy Technologies for smart sustainable cities” (ECOWET) was held between 23rd and 25th January, 2019 at GIFT city, Gujarat, India. The meeting was attended by the project partners, IIT Gandhinagar, GIFT city, and MMMUT Gorakhpur from Indian side and fortiss GmbH and sonnen GmbH from German side.

The three day meeting was kicked-off with short discussion on project status and detailed discussion on use-cases combined with their field visit. The project partners visited the use-cases at sewage treatment plant (STP), water treatment plant (WTP) and street lighting facility at Gyan Marg stretch, GIFT city. During the visit, the strategic location for installing Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery storage systems at use-case levels were identified and finalized. During the meeting, the project timeline was revisited with the contribution and project milestones. The meeting dates for the next consortium meeting was also finalized.
